Year in Review Volume 4

We’ve accomplished a great deal together as a community. From strengthening public safety and upgrading infrastructure to supporting local businesses and delivering meaningful resources to families, the latest edition of my Year in Review highlights the progress we’ve made.

It reflects sustained investment, consistent service, and strong partnerships with the residents and organizations who help keep our neighborhoods safe and thriving.

Welcoming Jaime Moore as the New Chief of the Los Angeles Fire Department

I joined with my colleagues to unanimously approve Deputy Chief Jaime Moore as the new permanent Chief of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD).

Chief Moore joined the Los Angeles Fire Department in 1995 and has been assigned to all four Geographic Bureaus of the City. As head of LAFD’s Valley Bureau, he worked tirelessly to prevent damage caused by wildfires to the San Fernando Valley.

Boil Water Notice Lifted After Safety Testing

Effective August 12, LADWP has confirmed that tap water is safe to drink in all areas of Granada Hills and Porter Ranch previously impacted by the Boil Water Notice issued on August 6, 2025. Residents may now resume normal use of tap water. However, LADWP strongly recommends flushing your pipes for at least 5 minutes to clear any stagnant water.

With the lifting of the Boil Water Notice, water distribution sites will close effective immediately.

LADWP Calls on Granada Hills and Porter Ranch Customers to Not Use Tap Water to Aid in Full Water Restoration Efforts

LADWP continues to urge customers to refrain from using any tap water flowing into their homes and businesses in Porter Ranch and Granada Hills. Turn off sprinklers and do not use tap water including for irrigating lawns and gardens, laundry, dishwashing or flushing toilets.
