Council District 12 launched a $300,000 investment to install more than 50 new solar-powered streetlights in Granada Hills. These lights are being installed in several Granada Hills neighborhoods hardest hit by chronic copper wire theft, and this project is part of a larger effort to find more effective ways of dealing with the rampant problem.
Because they operate independently of the electrical grid, these new solar lights are more theft-resistant and energy-efficient, reducing maintenance costs and ensuring our neighborhoods stay well-lit and safe. Read more here.
