The City is moving forward with a Speed Safety Systems pilot program launching this fall, which will install speed enforcement cameras at 125 locations along priority safety corridors, including near schools and senior centers. Before citations begin, there will be a 60 day public information campaign to notify residents about camera locations and how the program will work.
Violations will be civil, with fines starting at $50 and no points added to a driver’s license. Cameras will only capture rear license plate information, with strict privacy protections and data deletion requirements. Any revenue generated will be reinvested into street safety improvements.
Here are the locations in Council District 12:
- Reseda Blvd from Kinzie St to Superior St
- Nordhoff St from Geyser Ave to Yolanda Ave
- Nordhoff St from Petit Ave to Gothic Ave
- Balboa St from Tulsa St to 118 Fwy
- Tampa Ave from Merridy St to Lassen St
- Balboa Blvd from Plummer St to Lassen St
- Valley Circle Blvd from Victory to Highlander Rd
- Sesnon Blvd from Reseda Blvd to High Glen Way
This program is part of the City’s effort to reduce speeding and prevent serious and fatal crashes.
