Council District 12 Plants 96 New Oak Trees

Thanks to the work of our partners at City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services, the Council District 12 community is the new home of 96 Oak Trees that will serve to beautify our community and symbolize our commitment to the environment. These trees can be found at various locations throughout the district with the highest concentration of new trees finding their roots on Lassen Ave between Reseda and Yolanda.

Urban Cooling Program Comes to CD12

Councilmember Lee joined the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Street Services to kick off the next phase of the city's Urban Cooling Program which adds cool pavement and shade trees throughout neighborhoods in LA in an effort to reduce urban heat. This cooling pavement, in combination with the planting of new trees, will provide more refuge for residents and help keep streets a few degrees cooler, which makes a world of difference here in the San Fernando Valley.
