Public Works Deputy
Matthew Smith serves as the Public Works Deputy for Los Angeles City Council District 12. In this role, he is responsible for addressing a wide range of infrastructure-related issues throughout the district, including street lighting, street resurfacing, pothole repairs, and other core public works services. He works closely with city departments, stakeholders, and constituents to ensure timely responses and effective solutions that enhance the quality of life for residents.
Prior to joining the Council District 12 team, Matthew built a career in high-pressure environments, including several years in the entertainment industry as well as honorable service in the United States Navy. These experiences have equipped him with a strong work ethic, the ability to perform under pressure, and a commitment to public service that he now brings to his work on behalf of the district.
